IGDA Developer Satisfaction Survey
The IGDA exists to advance the careers and enhance the lives of game developers worldwide. To aid us in doing this and to better serve our members, information about who they are, what they do and how they feel about their industry is mission critical.
In 2014, the IGDA launched its annual Developer Satisfaction Survey to update our knowledge of the current demographic composition of the video game industry, understand general quality of life and gauge developers’ overall satisfaction with the state of the game industry and where it’s going. The survey is a partnership with Western University (Ontario, Canada), M2 Research, Georgia Institute of Technology and TÉLUQ university (Québec, Canada).
The Summary Report was released on 25 June 2014 and will be used to assess the overall state of developers’ quality of life, diversity in the industry, and job satisfaction in order to inform the IGDA on areas of action. For 2014 only, the survey also included additional questions that reflect our more in-depth Quality of Life survey which is conducted in 5 year intervals (2004, 2009, etc.).
