At this chapter meeting we will be playing the games that were created at this year's Global Game Jam which was held Jan 27-29th in Salt Lake City.  Come on out for pizza and to catch up with friends near UVU!

 Our next meeting will be a general networking event at the Microsoft Store. If you have a project written in XNA please bring it and show it off!

Let's get together, celebrate the amazing successes of 2011, the boundless promise of 2012, and the 10th anniversary of the International Game Developers Association's New Jersey Chapter!

That's right. It's been 10 years, 12 venues, 100 meetings (give or take), countless great speakers, endless fascinating conversations, and a lifetime of friends and good times.

Let's raise a glass to how far we've come and how far we'll go at the Zeppelin Biergarten in Jersey City. Free, plentiful parking and a quick PATH ride to NYC, a private room next to the hall bar, and top-shelf drinks for 3 or 4 dollars (that's right, you could order a Patron for 4 dollars!), make this an amazing venue worth checking out.

Chapter Coordinator Drew Sikora will give a presentation on the history of the IGDA NJ chapter and we'll have an open town-hall style meeting to discuss our favorite memories from the past 10 years of IGDA NJ meetings and the direction we'd like to see it go.

Unity Technologies will be attending and supporting the San Diego IGDA December 2011 meeting. Unity evangelists, field engineers, business development and sales associates, as well as a Union Developer Relations Manager will attend this event. Unity 3D engine news will be updated including upcoming features in version 3.5, a preview of the Unity Flash product, licensing and pricing models and updates, as well as Union, Asset Store, and other important updates. Unity will also field questions and answers. Unity is committed to its San Diego commUnity and looks forward to supporting IGDA Unity customer and user needs ongoing

IGDA Toronto is hosting the final social of the year on Thursday Dec 1st to complement HES and Gamercamp and roll us into the holiday season. Come join us and chill with your fellow game devs over a beer or three. Entry is free and we hope to see you there!

The Albany NY IGDA chapter is kicking off the fall with a Board Game Social night.

We're kicking off the fall with Board Game nigtht at Bootlegger's in Troy. Bring your board games and video games and ideas for future meetings. The chapter will be providing finger foods and Bootleggers has a full bar and dinner menu. Check out the attached image of the room, which includes 2 pool tables and a stage. Anyone interested in volunteering and helping to run the chapter, we are planning to have elections by the end of this year.

This event is free to attend and open to All.

What: Games Plus Life: Using Games to Improve Our Lives

As game developers, we understand how interactivity differentiates games from other mediums of entertainment, like books and film. As a medium that asks us to "do" rather than just "see", games have potential to go beyond entertainment and impact us in deeper ways; their addictive qualities can be used to help motivate us to improve our lives in ways we've previously struggled to do.

We will have our annual Colorado Game Dev Picnic/ChillFEST on Saturday June 25, 10:00am-5:00pm in WASHINGTON PARK, DENVER, COLORADO. Bring anything you wish to cook on the grill and eat or drink. FREE to attend.

Yes it has been a while, but that's only because we had to delay to make the next meeting even more awesome.  

The coordinators are excited to announce our next social meeting on Wednesday 5/25 7pm - at the recently opened Barcade in Jersey City (http://barcadejerseycity.com/).  

For those who don't know, Barcade is a video game themed bar, stocked with lots of classic arcade games, as well as being a haven for craft beers (most of them local) The Jersey City location just opened a little over a week ago.  You can get directions here - http://barcadejerseycity.com/directions/  and for those mass tranist types, it's only a 2min walk from the grove street PATH stop. 

It's that time of year again! Join us Saturday May 7th for the Pirates game vs. the Houston Astros.

Tickets are $8 and we will be sitting in the outfield bleachers under the scoreboard. Bring a glove and you might catch a homerun!

Saturday's game is also a Pirates Cap Night, everyone will get a free Pirates baseball cap with admission! On top of that, after the game there will be a spectacular fireworks show provided by Zambelli Fireworks!

All for $8 bucks!
