Hi everyone,
I’m here to announce this great contest that will give you the opportunity to leave your mark in the DevTOONs future.
I leave in your hands, the creation of the DevTOONs logo!

    That’s right! It’s time to pull for that artistic vein.
Here are the rules!

Making the Logo

The logo has to be made according to these specifications:

    - The logo has to be simple, without big effects; - There must be a good color contrast;
    - You can only use the minimum of two (2) colors and a maximum of three (3) colors;
    - MEGA SIZE! (the base size is 270x200*, just resize at will);
    - 300 pixels per inch (ppi);
    - 24bits (16 thousand colors);
    - Transparent Background;
    - Save in TIFF format.
Preferably, but not mandatory, the logo should be created in vector, so that it can be resized without the loss of quality or form.

The logo needs to have the name DevTOONs (pay attention to the case difference between the letters).
Have in mind that the slogan "Your GameDev Related Comic ;^)" is equally needed: you can write it or just leave a space for it (since I’ll use a word type chosen by me [as in the image up there]).

*Why 270x200? Well, that’s the size of the reserved space for the logo in the future DevTOONs website.
In this resolution, it’s necessary that the logo has a minimum distance of 10 pixels in each side of the image.

Participation

The contestants can only submit a maximum of three (3) logos (this includes different versions of one logo, except minor and unnoticeable changes).
The logos must be submitted with the base size 270x200 in Bitmap (BMP) format.

These information are required:

    - Nick; - E-Mail;
    - Full Name;
    - Address;
    - City;
    - Country;
    - State or Province (if applicable);
    - ZIP or Postal Code;
    - T-Shirt Size (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, XX-Large or XXX-Large).
This information will remain private and will be discarded after the end of this contest.
Send your logos to the following mail:
    devtoons (at) gmail (dot) com
Send the image as it is: without using archivers and such.

AND FOR ALL THAT IS SACRED DON’T GET RID OF THE ORIGINAL LOGO BECAUSE IT WILL BE NEEDED IF YOU WIN!!! (see why at the end)

Why these rules? Well, because the logo is going to be used in everything that is necessary, including these contest prizes!

YES! There are prizes!!!

There will be chosen the best five (5) logos and their artists will get the following prizes:

    1st Place - 1x DevTOONs T-Shirt, white, 100% Quality Cotton 8) + 1x DevTOONs Poster (A3+) + A CAMEO IN THE WEBCOMIC!!! 2nd to 5th Place - 1x DevTOONs Poster (A3+)
You read it correctly! The winner will appear in a DevTOONs comic strip! Smile Big

Since this contest has already begun, the deadline has been extended to 23:59 GMT of 31st, March 2005! So, hurry up! Wink

The winners will be announced, hopefully without delay, in 5th, April 2005.

The prizes will be sent as soon as they’re done (because I need to use the winning logo on them – see more bellow).
The time the prizes will take to reach their destiny will be approximately seven days.

IMPORTANT!

The most important thing of all is that the 1st prize winner will have to help me out creating the prizes. I will need the original TIFF image to finish the T-Shirts and Posters designs and take them to the printers.
Oh, and I’ll also need a photo so that I can draw the big winner in the strip.
