Austin Technology Council presents a Power Lunch: Richard Garriott: The future of Austin's Gaming Industry

Gaming has become a multi-billion dollar industry and Austin has emerged as a leader. Austin Technology Council is pleased to present Richard Garriott, renowned gaming expert and Executive Producer for NCsoft, as our May 2007 Power Lunch speaker. Richard will discuss the future of Austin's Gaming Industry and the keys for further cultivation of this highly imaginative and fast paced industry as well as steps the city can take to turn gaming into the same sort of success story as the film industry.

Richard is well known for blazing a trail in the computer gaming industry by co-founding Origin Systems with his brother Robert and producing Ultima, one of the most successful, longest-running game series of all time. Although Origin was acquired by Electronic Arts in 1992, he stayed with the company until April 2000, at which time he started Destination Games which became part of NCsoft Corporation in 2001. Richard is currently working on Tabula Rasa, his first title for NCsoft.
