DS Programmer Opening at Amaze


Amaze Entertainment Austin seeks programmers for a high profile Nintendo DS title. Amaze is located in the heart of downtown Austin, within walking distance of restaurants, theaters, hike and bike trails, and music clubs. Amaze, a Foundation 9 Entertainment studio, is an active member of the Austin game community. Our four teams focus on the Nintendo DS, the fastest growing game console on the market. Our studio is collaborative, flexible, social and professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to programming efforts in designing, implementing and debugging code for a Nintendo DS game
  • Work with the lead programmer and team’s producer to implement game programming tasks
  • Collaborate with other programmers to develop and share new technology
  • Collaborate with other talented teammates to create great games

Requirements:

  • Fluent in C/C++ programming with good debugging skills
  • Ability to adhere to coding standards and complete tasks in prompt manner
  • Comfortable managing one’s own time
  • Works closely with the members of the programming team to ensure coding and quality expectations are met
  • Passionate about games and creative problem-solving
  • Write clean, well documented code
  • Good verbal and written communications skills

Preferences:

  • Experience in project-based work
  • Interest in handheld game development
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats. Our programmers aren’t pigeonholed in one role
  • A good sense of humor
