Job Description
Individual will be part of a dynamic team in Austin, responsible for creating games that require little maintenance with maintainable code. The game programmer collaborates with designers, artists, mathematicians, and audio engineers to develop games as they are designed and works with QA to troubleshoot and resolve bugs. Education should include B.S. in Computer Science or a related field (Engineering, etc).
Required Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++
- Knowledge of common data structures and algorithmic solutions
- Knowledge and experience with STL
- Thorough knowledge of software design practices including, data-driven architecture, object-oriented design
- Ability to write clean, readable, portable, reliable, and optimized code
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with programmers, artists, sound engineers, and designers
- A strong passion for video games
Desired Knowledge
- UML
- XML
- DirectX
- Software design patterns
- Source control tools
- 3D math
Prior experience in PC/console industry a plus, Position is located in Austin, Texas
