BioWare Austin seeks Web Producer

BioWare Austin is searching for a Web Producer to lead the development, from concept to release, and to manage the daily update cycle for BioWare's website. The Web Producer position is based in Austin, Texas and will manage the creation and maintenance of Internet applications and the development of highly interactive and customized web experiences while creating programming that will be compelling and interactive in enticing people to explore our game and strengthen our customer relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads an online production team in the creative development and technical implementation of content for the company's website.
- Accountable for the life of the site, from release on the network, through ongoing refreshes and updates.
- Manages project resources, assets, schedule and budget to ensure timely, current and cost effective programs.
- Develops and communicates creative vision for brand and product Web sites.
- Works with the Community Manager to regularly update and create unique and persistent Web content.
- Oversees the research and development of new Internet technologies.
- Reviews and analyzes top Internet sites and monitors competitive efforts.
- Tracks, analyzes and reports on customer traffic through our Web sites.
- Assists the development team across various deliverables, including regular fixes and maintenance as well as new feature development.
- Computer science degree or 2-3 years Internet programming experience desired.
- 5 years experience managing a web team with proven excellence in leadership and project management (at least 3 years managing external development teams).
- Technical understanding of the technologies and techniques used to implement Web 2.0 features such as online communities, forums, blogs, wikis, social bookmarking, social networking and other user-generated content is highly desirable.
- Must have experience implementing effective Web/Software development processes and best practices with development teams.
- Must be able to create clear specifications that define the user experience, feature set, and detail all development requirements associated with project.
- Experience managing online application infrastructures and subscription services a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Works well across dynamic team environment, partnering with designers, writers, engineers and customers.
- Very responsive with a customer-centric, collaborative approach and the ability to serve a wide range of needs within the organization at all levels.
- Extensive game playing experience (especially MMOs) a plus.
- Expert knowledge of web standards, design and usability, and common web and application architectures.
- Proficient with tools including Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, FTP client, CVS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
