Independent Game Conference Nov. 29th & 30th
The second annual Independent Game Conference will take place this Thursday and Friday, November 29th and 30th, here in Austin, Texas, at the Wyndham Hotel.
The Independent Game Conference aims to remove the sales pitch and replace them with sessions geared towards the needs of the game industry professionals. This two-track conference will deliver sessions that address the technology and business issues and answer the question "How do I make my company successful?"

BioWare Austin is seeking a qualified Senior Database Programmer for our platform group to help make and maintain MMO platform systems. Platform systems include ecommerce, subscriptions, business intelligence, global game systems (like chat or event logging), metrics, customer service tools, and other game systems global to the game service. The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of and experience in the design, implementation and continuing support of client/server database applications using both C++ and Java in either Oracle or Postgres/Enterprise-DB. Warren Spector Welcomes Paul Weaver to the UT Master Class
On Monday, November 12, Paul Weaver will be Warren Spector's guest for the UT Master Class. Paul Weaver is currently the Director of Development at Junction Point Studios here in Austin,Texas. In the past he has been the Executive Producer at Visual Concepts and prior to that he was the Senior Producer at Ion Storm. In Spector's words, "This is one of the best producers I've had the privilege of working with." Mr. Weaver will be drilling down more than past guests on the actual process of making a game, managing a team, a budget and a timeline. In addition, he's coming off a movie license game, so he has some insight into working with Hollywood.
So join us for another Monday at the University of Texas with Warren Spector and his video game industry guests.

Two stories will be airing the new Lone Star Emmy award winning local series, Docubloggers. Strange title, but fitting once you read the concept (cue to the website promo) at http://www.docubloggers.org: Docubloggers takes a community-driven, interactive look at life in Central Texas.
