BioWare Austin is seeking candidates for the position of Animator to help deliver a high quality game to market. The Animator is an individual contributor on the art team. This position creates complex 3D models and textures under the direction of the Principal Lead Animator.

Responsibilities
- Creates character animation (keyframe animation and/or motion-capture based animation) to create the best character animation.
- Develop smooth, realistic and dramatic animation assets (Work with character rigs to develop animation assets for facial, hand, and other detailed movements to create lifelike human characters.
- Collaborate with Principal Lead Animator and Senior Animators in implementation of animations within game engine.
- Assisting the Principal Lead Animator in the evaluation of tools and processes.
- Works with designers, programmers and other personnel involved in the development of products.
- As directed, interacts with peers or managers in other units/teams/projects and/or vendors.
Experience and Qualifications
- Up to 2 years of professional animation experience
- Demonstrated ability to create fluid, smooth, realistic animations with specific demonstration of animation fundamentals.
- Previous work experience will have included creating realistic human, animal and/or creature animations.
- Self-starter with the ability to contribute to a team environment.
- Strong passion for creating immersive, high quality videogames.
- Capable of working both as a member of a team, and individually with minimum supervision.
- Character modeling skills and / or cinematic experience a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
- Preference towards applicants that exhibit:
- Previous experience working on MMOs
- Technically savvy with strong problem solving skills.
- Proficent with 3DSMAX.
- Proficent with Z-Brush and/or Mudbox.

All portfolios must contain a detailed shot breakdown of the work. It must be very clear what you, the applicant, are responsible for in your reel, screenshots, scanned pictures, web page portfolio, etc. We would also like you to include your name in the subject line of your emailed application, as well as the competition number of the position(s) that you are applying for.

- Figure drawing
- Color work
