Retro Studios seeks Senior Engineer

Description of Duties
- A senior individual contributor responsible for the development and integration of game systems and tools
- Utilizes in-depth experience to identify and anticipate potential areas for improvement, and to assist, train and mentor junior members of the team
- Designs, writes, tests, implements and maintains clear maintainable code
- Writes documentation for other programmer's use
- Has a clear vision of how products should function and the ability to lead peers to share this vision
- Develop systems and content for Nintendo titles
- Develop and maintain C# & Win32 tools to manage asset pipeline and creation
- Identify future areas for development and improvement
- Communicate with senior management costs/benefits of system development
- Work with art and design teams to optimize content creation and to define technical solutions to their problems
- Report to engineering director on project status
Summary of Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 6 years experience developing console games
- Strong C++ and math
- At least 3 full production cycles culminating in shipped titles
- Experience developing game architecture & tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision

- Familiarity with Nintendo hardware
