Austin Community College seeks Game Art and Game Design instructors

Austin Community College is launching a new Game Development program this fall, offering degrees in Video Game Art and Video Game Design through the Visual Communication Department. We are seeking part time instructors to teach classes such as Intro to Game Design & Development, Level Design, Design & Creation of Games, Game Testing, and more.

Requirements

  • Three years documented
  • Professional production experience within the Video or Computer Game Development Industry
  • Communication skills are critical to convey classroom material to a diverse student body
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in all areas of game design, production, and art creation (using 3d Studio Max 8 or above and Photoshop)
  • Have worked with at least one commercial game engine.
  • Must also be knowledgeable about and capable of using current technology in the classroom and able to teach effectively at a community college level

Preferred: College-level teaching experience a plus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Game Development or a degree in a related industry (Game Design, Creative Writing, Film Production, Programming, Studio Art, Animation).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Game Development with strong emphasis in Game Design, Creative Writing, Film Production, Programming, Animation, or Business Management.
TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS
