DeVry University Teaching Opportunities

The Austin campus of DeVry University has opportunities for teaching in its B.S. in Games and Simulation Programming currcilum. This is a fully accredited B.S. devoted to teaching students to become programmers for games, including serious games. There are over 20 courses devoted to game programming. The Austin program started in July 2007 and is headed by Dr. Bruce Naylor.

Currently, our greatest need is for Adjunct faculty to teach game design courses or introductory programming courses. As the program grows, there will be a demand for additional faculty to teach core game programming courses.

The State of Texas has specific requirements for any person to qualify for teaching accredited courses at the university level. The two primary requirements are: 1) a graduate degree (M.A., M.S., Ph.D. etc.) in any field, 2) 18 graduate hrs. credit in the field that the person will be teaching (e.g Computer Science, Art, Design). In addition, DeVry requires that faculty also have Industry experience.

Classes meet once a week for ~4 hrs. for 8 week sessions. Meeting times are flexible, including day, evening or Saturday mornings.
