The Austin campus of DeVry University has opportunities for teaching in its B.S. in Games and Simulation Programming currcilum. This is a fully accredited B.S. devoted to teaching students to become programmers for games, including serious games. There are over 20 courses devoted to game programming. The Austin program started in July 2007 and is headed by Dr. Bruce Naylor.

Currently, our greatest need is for Adjunct faculty to teach game design courses or introductory programming courses. As the program grows, there will be a demand for additional faculty to teach core game programming courses.

The State of Texas has specific requirements for any person to qualify for teaching accredited courses at the university level. The two primary requirements are: 1) a graduate degree (M.A., M.S., Ph.D. etc.) in any field, 2) 18 graduate hrs. credit in the field that the person will be teaching (e.g Computer Science, Art, Design). In addition, DeVry requires that faculty also have Industry experience.

Classes meet once a week for ~4 hrs. for 8 week sessions. Meeting times are flexible, including day, evening or Saturday mornings.

If you are interested, please contact Dr. Naylor at bnaylor -AT- devry -DOT- edu

(Intern) Scripter

Edge of Reality is an independent studio focused on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii. We are working on an original action title which will break new ground with technology and gameplay, and on a high profile action film title based on a popular license.

We have been fortunate enough to be part of multiple hit commercial titles. As a result, the studio has a stable future. Edge of Reality is completely independent. As such, we are free to work with any publisher, on any platform.

Edge of Reality, founded in 1998, got its modest start with N64 ports. The ports we have done include Monster Truck Madness N64, Tony Hawk ProSkater 1, 2 & 3 N64, and Spiderman N64. These ports capitalized the studio and allowed us to grow our development capability to take on full game development. We have developed a number of cross platform titles for the PS2, Xbox & GameCube including The Sims, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, DreamWork's Shark Tale, and DreamWork's Over The Hedge. Publishers we have worked with include EA, Activision and Take Two.

Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401k matching, paid time off, and paid company holidays. Company social functions include boat parties, holiday parties, launch parties, movie nights, and picnics. We have fully stocked kitchens available to everyone. Comprised of experienced game developers from places like Origin, Looking Glass, Electronic Arts, Sony, Sony Online, Digital Anvil, NC Soft, Rare and many more, we believe long-term success can best be achieved by delivering games of the highest quality – in game play and presentation, notably on time and budget. While hard work and commitment to quality is important, quality of life is equally important and our goal is to create an environment that fosters a superior work/life balance.
