Resume Hosting
IGDA-Austin hosts the resumes of professionals in Austin with previous games industry experience for the purpose of connecting Austin employers to professionals who are suddenly without a job for any reason. Resumes will be maintained on this website until the job seeker notifies us of employment or until three months have passed without any requests to refresh the posting date, whichever comes first.
To add your resume to our listing, send the following information to IGDA-Austin_Resumes*AT*googlegroups.com:
- Experience-Based Job Title - We will categorize your resumes based on previous experience. The contract that we engage in with employers is that all resumes we post on this site indicate previous and relevant professional games industry experience for its particular category. Giving us your past job title saves us time by letting us categorize your resume faster.
- Preferred Email Address - We will encrypt it to protect against SPAM-bots
- Specializations - These would be keywords that employers can quickly scan such as technical support, network programming, user interface, level editing, scripting, environments, or animation.
- Website (Optional) - If you have your own portfolio website, we'll list it. If you have a PDF or JPEG resume on the web, we'll link to that. Otherwise, we'll require...
- A Web Safe Resume in Either PDF or JPEG Format - If you send us a resume in any other format, we will not post it. Note that OpenOffice is free and can convert Microsoft Word documents to PDF. We will not edit or proofread your resume, so choose your information carefully. Do not post phone numbers or the email address of references on your web resume unless you want everybody on the internet to know that information. Remember that SPAM-bots can scan PDF files for email addresses; so you might want to encrypt any emails on your resume as well.
You can update or remove your resume at any time by contacting the email address above. Your resume must include past experience with a previous games industry employer. We do not have enough bandwidth to handle the resumes of all those in the city of Austin and beyond who are trying to break into the industry around Austin. If you are trying to break into the games industry, we recommend that you use the resources listed on our FAQ page.
