ScreenBurn panel programming, March 7-11, provides up-and-coming game industry talent an opportunity to learn from established professionals and international experts. Topics range from building community to newfangled business models to the emerging marketplace of casual users. The ScreenBurn Arcade: March 8-9 is a hands-on space for exhibitors, consumers, independent developers, and soon-to-be masters of the gaming world, the ScreenBurn Arcade is the centerpiece of the 2008 event. Free and open to the public, the ScreenBurn Arcade also includes the latest demos and video game tournaments.

Warren Spector Welcomes Paul Weaver to the UT Master Class
On Monday, November 12, Paul Weaver will be Warren Spector's guest for the UT Master Class. Paul Weaver is currently the Director of Development at Junction Point Studios here in Austin,Texas. In the past he has been the Executive Producer at Visual Concepts and prior to that he was the Senior Producer at Ion Storm. In Spector's words, "This is one of the best producers I've had the privilege of working with." Mr. Weaver will be drilling down more than past guests on the actual process of making a game, managing a team, a budget and a timeline. In addition, he's coming off a movie license game, so he has some insight into working with Hollywood.

King of King and UT Videogame Archive fundraiser on Docubloggers
Two stories will be airing the new Lone Star Emmy award winning local series, Docubloggers. Strange title, but fitting once you read the concept (cue to the website promo) at http://www.docubloggers.org: Docubloggers takes a community-driven, interactive look at life in Central Texas. Combining documentary filmmaking and viewer interaction, Docubloggers takes story ideas from the community it serves to create a mosaic of the region.
