November IGDA Baltimore Chapter Meeting - 15th at 6:30pm

This month several student and amateur groups will present and demo their game projects to the group. This meeting will not be in our usual location and will be hosted by Firaxis Games. (Thank you, Firaxis!)

6:30pm on Wednesday, November 15th.

Note the slightly later start time than usual. Refreshments will be provided.

Each group will introduce themselves briefly, and demos will be set up around the room, like a mini-IGF. (This format may change depending on the number of presenters present.)

IMPORTANT: Firaxis Games is located within a secure office complex. The doors to building III will be open until 7:00pm (so you will be able to get in if you are on time!) after which you will be required to enter through the security desk on the south side of the complex.

  • If anyone has a project they'd like us to consider for inclusion on Wednesday, please contact the Chapter Coordinator.
  • By way of apology for the short notice: Until very recently, it looked like we were going to have Emergent, makers of the Gamebryo Engine (used on some projects by BreakAway, Firaxis, and Bethesda Softworks, among others), do a presentation about the future of their engine on nextgen platforms. However, they have had to reschedule their visit for a future IGDA meeting. We didn't want to cancel the November meeting though, and wanted to do something more than just hang out at the Treehouse, so we tried to put this together quickly. We definitely plan to do something like it again in 2007, with more advance notice.
