Casual Games
The IGDA Casual Game SIG covers the wide world of casual games, whether on PC's, social networks, the open web, consoles, mobile devices, or elsewhere.
Casual Games are often referred to as "games for the rest of us" - games that target the 90% of the population that aren't 18-34 year old males.

GDC Online
I don't know how many people from the SIG are planning on attending, but it looks like GDC Online in Austin October 5-8 has a lot of interesting casual and social content and even has special iPhone and iPad tracks. I won't be attending
but I know that several of my colleagues from Playdom (and staff from other prominent social gaming companies) will be speaking there.
Casual Game White Papers
One of the Casual Game SIG's original focuses was producing an annual white paper on the state of the casual games industry.
Here are links to the most recent efforts:
Casual Game SIG Magazine
For several years, the Casual Games SIG published a magazine 2-3 times a year online with 1-2 issues per year in print, covering a variety of topics around casual game design and the casual game business.
Here are links to several (relatively) recent back issues on the old IGDA site for your enjoyment:
