On Tuesday January 11, 2011 IGDA Ottawa will hold a social event at Bitheads Theater. 

In 2011, we will hold monthly meeting during the entire year! Don't miss the opportunity to discuss with other game developers and be part of your local game community!

Swill drinks with fellow industry leaders and hear from a panel of New Jersey games-industry entrepreneurs on how they started their game companies, and how you can do the same.

We're also raffling off a Kinect. $5 per ticket. If you are a member you get $1 off (ID card must be presented at time of purchase). If you RSVP (yes or maybe) you get $1 off. So if you are a member who RSVP'd your per ticket price would be $3. RSVP cut off date/time is 5pm, Wed., Dec 22nd (date of the event). You must attend the event to purchase a ticket. Maximum number of tickets a person is allowed to purchase is 5. All money is considered a donation to the chapter so that we can provide even deeper content in 2011 and beyond. All donations (ticket purchase or otherwise) are greatly appreciated!

GameCamp is a day and a half long unconference focused on discussing as many aspects of gaming that can fit into the allotted time frame. Join us next week for our Fall 2010 meeting with indie developer James Silva from Ska Studios (based in Schenectady NY). Ska Studios is best known for its Xbox Live Arcade game The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai and Xbox Indie Game I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1NIT!!!1. At the meeting James will be telling his "Big old indie story" and have demos of titles he has developed.

Final Burn 2010

It's time again for the annual end of year party for game developers in the Salt Lake City/Provo area in Utah.  Gather to show off projects, talk about the year over some food and drinks, or bring games and just hang out!

IGDA DC is rallying in support of the ECA, which would like members of the game development community at their rally for Free Speech in video games while the Supreme Court hears opening arguments in Schwarzenegger v. EMA.

The rally goes from 9-12 am and the hearings begin at 10:00 am. Those who want to get into the Court to observe the hearings should get there early. People who get there late may be allowed in for brief, three-minute periods.

 This Saturday August 21st from 4-7pm join the Pittsburgh IGDA for a delightful picnic in Schenley Park! PIGDA will provide burgers, drinks, and a volleyball net and we're asking that everyone else bring a dish to share. Video Game themed dishes will be eligible for a special prize!

Ottawa's IGDA Chapter and Dirty Rectangles game collective proudly present the Ottawa Game Developers Social and BBQ.

On Saturday August 21st, IGDA and Dirty Rectangles welcome you to join us at Vincent Macy Park for an evening of hamburgers, sausages, and fine company. The barbecue will begin at 6pm with the social extending into the evening.

There are outdoor outlets available at Vincent Macy Park and we welcome anyone to bring laptop to show anything you might be working on. This event marks the 6 month anniversary of the Dirty Rectangles collective, as such they will be displaying some of the games created for there past events and competitions.

We hope to see you at this informal Ottawa Game Developers get together!
