  Join the Pittsburgh IGDA this Saturday for miniature golf on Neville Island!

 The July First Thursday has been moved! We will be back at The Library this Thursday and the evening will be a joint even with IxDA- The Interaction Design Association.

Several IGDA members will be giving brief talks- come out & support them, mingle with our local cousin organization members, and enjoy the beer and sweet potato fries of The Library!

Despite the looming threat of rainfall, Chillfest had a great turnout and ended up being a sun-filled event full of Frisbee, volleyball, hamburgers, and good company! Now that I’ve fully recovered from my sunburns, I’m happy to announce Chillfest 2!

What’s Chillfest?

A chance for you to bring your friends, spouse, and kids to spend a relaxing, fun-filled day in the company of like-minded gamers. Discuss game development while playing ladderball, volleyball, or simply enjoying food fresh off the barbecue. Best of all, It’s free! We do ask that if you can, bring some food and drink to share with your colleagues. Take a look at our discussion list to see how you can contribute.

Join other Pittsburgh IGDA members for a fun night out at a baseball game. It's fireworks night- the best kind of baseball night at PNC Park. Families and friends welcome.

It's the monthly Pittsburgh IGDA social event! It's mostly a laid back social hour for your drinking and networking pleasure.

The weather is warming up so it's time to switch locations. Starting in May, PIGDA First Thursdays will be at the Hofbrauhaus (http://www.hofbrauhauspittsburgh.com/) in South Side.
Come at 6:00pm- we'll be there till 8. If it's nice out, we'll be in the beer garden out back- as always, look for someone in a funny hat.

Please bring cash for your drinks and food to make splitting checks easier.

Time for a Booze & Schmooze at the E&C! The meeting starts at 8:00PM. If you have some news that you would like announced at the meeting, please email or talk to us ahead of time.

IGDA Members, WIGI Members and LOGIN attendees are all invited to a totally awesome blowout at the Copper Cart Cafe in Belltown right above the LOGIN Confernece hotel, the waterfront Marriott.  We'll be going from 9 - when they throw us out!

We're gathering up speakers to present on a variety of topics: mobile gaming, the business of game development, design techniques, and more...all done in the attention grabbing Pecha Kucha style.

As an fyi
Pecha Kucha Night events consist of around a dozen presentations, each presenter having 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. Each presenter has just 6 minutes 40 seconds to explain their ideas before the next presenter takes the stage.

As many of you are aware GDC is right around the corner, but before everyone catches their flight to sunny San Francisco we'd like to invite you all to come out for a pre-GDC Albany IGDA meeting. There's certainly a lot to talk about... what with the Board of Directors Elections currently underway, plans for chapter formalization, and future events being scheduled, this is one social night you won't want to miss. So come join us on Monday, March 1st 2010 at Browns Brewery in Troy.

Let's ensure November gets off to a great start with an Albany IGDA social night!

The Albany IGDA social night is a great excuse for game industry folks of all experience levels to get-together and network in a relaxed atmosphere. Come on out and meet other professional game creators in the area. There's no agenda or schedule - just show up, have a drink or two, and chat with like minded developers.

During the event we'll also be speaking to attendees about what types of IGDA events they would like to see over the coming year.

Our monthly First Friday happy hour social has been moved to the first THURSDAY of the month and, due to the imminent wintery weather, we're moving from the beer garden of the Hoffbrauhaus to the warm, 2nd floor interior of The Library (not be confused by the south side public library a block away).
