Meeting Report

Red Mercury Spin
April 2002
by Teresa Stankiewicz

We had a great meeting at the Arts Institute of Illinois with Scott Corley from Red-Mercury giving a talk on "the difference in programming for hand-helds vs consoles". Scott enthralled the audience with a dynamic comparison complete with slides. There were quite a few newcomers attending and lots of note taking! Yes, I saw those scribblers!

Scott has developed games for consoles and hand-helds. He started his own company Red-Mercury in 1999 and now programs solely for hand-held games. He gave a great comparison on the topics of business, content and technical differences in console vs hand-held games. He answered all the questions thrown at him and actually got a lively discussion going.
