Cornucopia - A Whole Lotta Stuff!
October 28, 2003

Kaydara, makers of Motionbuilder 5, and Red Eye Studios have teamed up to host our October IGDA meeting. There will be several presentations throughout the evening, including demonstrations of Kaydara's newly released Motionbuilder 5 software by Jim Nasser, Red Eye's MOTION Library System, and just in time for Halloween, behind the scenes discussions about motion capture used in the newly released "Disney's Haunted Mansion" game by Damion Davis, Art Director, and Josh Bear, Designer, at High Voltage Software.

We will be raffling off great prizes including one seat of Motionbuilder standard ($1000 value), one copy of Red Eye's Motion Library System ($3000 value), a copy of the book "Maya Character Studio" donated by New Riders and plenty of t-shirts!

Josh VanVeld, Producer, is stopping by to premiere the trailer for the next installment of Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. The new title, developed by High Voltage Software with motion capture by Red Eye Studios, is scheduled for release through Vivendi Universal games on next-generation consoles and the PC in late 2004. The Leisure Suit Larry videogame franchise began in 1987 with The Land of the Lounge Lizards, the first of seven games in the series. Since then, Leisure Suit Larry games have sold millions of units worldwide and its games are considered collector items.

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude tells the coming of age story about Larry Lovage, nephew of Larry Laffer, the series' original lovable loser. In Magna Cum Laude, Lovage starts as a pathetic loser enrolled at Community College who spends most of his time on campus striking out with women. Over the course of the game, Larry sets out on an epic search for love (or its equivalent) and finds that things don't always go as planned.
