Holiday Break

Since our November & December IGDA meetings will fall during holiday weeks we took a break to enjoy the holidays. Below were some alternate events going on around the city.

Discreet proudly showcased the newly released 3ds max® 6 and combustion® 3 at CINEME™ 2003. Discreet's Evolve Tour at CINEME was held on Saturday, November 8th. Highlights of this Discreet event included:
  • Demos showcasing high profile work in game development, visual effects, and design visualization
  • Industry guest speakers offering an expert view of Discreet 3D and 2D solutions
  • Special discounts on Discreet, IBM and NVIDIA/PNY Quadro FX products Prize drawings for attendees only


Michael Swanigan, A Presentation on Animation Careers Sponsored by Westwood College - November 19th

Join us for Animate Your Future, featuring Emmy Award winning animator Michael Swanigan. This event is being held for anyone interested in learning how to start or advance a career in animation. For more than 20 years, Michael Swanigan has served as an animation director, story board artist and in a variety of other capacities for films and television programs. He won an Emmy for his work on The Simpsons and Voltron, Defender of the Universe. He has also worked on Bionicle - Mask of Light, the Proud Family, Stuart Little, Men in Black, Extreme Ghostbusters, and Garfield and Friends among other films and television programs. During his career he has worked on projects for studios such as Disney, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, Warner Bros, Sony and Marvel. Scott Cenkar, an instructor in the animation degree program at Westwood College of Technology's Woodridge, IL campus, will also participate in the question and answer session. Admission is free but advance registration is recommended. Animate Your Future will be held on November 19th at Dave and Busters located at 1155 North Swift Road in Addison, IL.
