In addition, it is time to elect our board of directors again. We'll discuss this at the meeting, and anyone wishing to speak about elections, nominate themselves or others, or make speeches can do so. Elections will take place online, so you don't need to be at the meeting to vote. See the blog post below on this page for more information.
We are a group of individuals in the Denver/Boulder/Colorado Springs area that meet once a month to talk about the computer game industry and network with one another. We have been meeting regularly since 1987 and consist of professionals in the computer game industry, and others looking to break into the industry. Some of our members can be considered among the fathers of modern computer gaming.

Elections Coming Up!
I posted this to our Yahoo group last night. Thought it was important enough to post here again, but lets keep the conversation together on the Yahoo list:
Hello all. Well it is almost time to hold elections for the board of directors for the Colorado chapter of the IGDA. There are three elected positions and two positions appointed by the board after elections.
We'll be meeting again on Monday, Feb. 6 at 7 pm. at the Tavern Uptown in Denver. At that meeting it would be an ideal time for those wanting to run for a board position to say a few words. If you would like to run for a position, let me know (before, during, or even slightly after) the meeting. You can (and should) provide a few paragraphs of text about yourself and why you'd like to be on the board. I'll post all of those to the web site before we hold elections.

GameCamp is a day and a half long unconference focused on discussing as many aspects of gaming that can fit into the allotted time frame. Colorado Springs Meeting
Currently, we are hammering out plans for the meeting, but part of it will be a discussion of game design and game studies performed at UCCS, particularly those of the Bachelors of Innovation program's Game Design Degree and my course on the Art History of Videogames, but we also will be showcasing work done by students and professionals in the region. I invite any and all game developers in the region to attend.

Colorado Springs Battle of the Rock Bands
On Fri, Dec 3rd, we'll be hosting a "Battle of the Rock Bands" at which we'll invite groups to play and compete in Rock Band performance. Groups will be asked to make a donation to participate and we might ask the audience to make their votes with donations.

Colorado Springs Game Day + Movie
On Tues, Nov. 16th, we'll host a board/card/video game day followed by a film screening (we're hoping for Scott Pilgrim!). We'll be asking for donations and will auction off donations from the community like gift cards and such.
