Next Event: Chill Fest September 2010!

Details:  bapgaming.tripod.com/images/chillfest.jpg

We are a group of individuals in the Denver/Boulder/Colorado Springs area that meet once a month to talk about the computer game industry and network with one another. We have been meeting regularly since 1987 and consist of professionals in the computer game industry, and others looking to break into the industry. Some of our members can be considered among the fathers of modern computer gaming.

Be sure to check over to the right side of this page under "Next group event" to find all the details of our next meeting. We usually meet the first Monday or Tuesday of every month.

Sign up for the monthly meeting announcement list. You'll receive an email before each meeting with time, location and topic details.

Sign up for our ongoing discussion list. This is a great way to interact with other Colorado developers between meetings, and to post questions and look for jobs or employees.

Revenge of the Chillfest (Game Developer Picnic - Saturday, July 10th)

Despite the looming threat of rainfall, Chillfest had a great turnout and ended up being a sun-filled event full of Frisbee, volleyball, hamburgers, and good company! Now that I’ve fully recovered from my sunburns, I’m happy to announce Chillfest 2!

What’s Chillfest?

A chance for you to bring your friends, spouse, and kids to spend a relaxing, fun-filled day in the company of like-minded gamers. Discuss game development while playing ladderball, volleyball, or simply enjoying food fresh off the barbecue. Best of all, It’s free! We do ask that if you can, bring some food and drink to share with your colleagues. Take a look at our discussion list to see how you can contribute.

May Meeting Recap

The Tavern Uptown again played host to another successful CGDA meeting. Over twenty-five developers arrived to mingled over drinks and appetizers. As is usually the case when no formal topic is set, people broke into groups to discuss every topic imaginable. Discussions included iPhone sales figures, audio composition, SQL in MMOs, going indie, and game school curriculum – just to name a few.

The night was kicked off with the announcement of the picnic/potluck on May 15th. Everyone seemed very excited and we are expecting a great turnout! Soon afterward, eager hands grabbed at plastic and dust entombed games as Gary unveiled a box packed with titles he had never “gotten around to playing”, demanding everyone take a couple home.

We've already got our first meeting there set for Tuesday, April 6 at 7 p.m.
