2010 Speakers - please let us know who you'd like to see speak!

The forums are up, the chapter's met twice - Seattle, what do you want from your IGDA chapter?
Here are a couple ideas for speakers I'm trying to nail down for 2010:
Intellectual Property & Gaming - one of the topics that came up at the November meeting a few times was the difficulty that indy developers have with getting feedback while protecting their IP. Scott Warner from Garvey Schubert Barer has offered to speak to the membership on this topic - Thanks Scott!
The state of 3d content creation - with the consolidation that the major players in 3d modeling and animation have seen, what's next for 3d content creation? I'd like to get views from the major content creation platforms on where this market is going next.
I'm sure the membership has ideas - please let me know and I'll see what I can arrange!

That's a great idea Kenneth - Torchlight was a real treat - and I've only played the demo because I found it so addicting I'm going to need to set time aside for some serious concentration! I love the touches they've added to the formula - the pet returning to town, for example.
I've also been pondering, for another session, a discussion on social gaming here in Seattle (a kind of cross pollination with AJ Archibald & the Seattle Social Games group. Anyone have opinions on this kind of a topic as well?

I agree, this is a great idea. It is also just the sort of input we need to really bring this chapter up to its potential.
I will contract the guys at Runic and see if they are amenable to doing a presentation. Then we can work on figuring out a date and venue early next year. BTW, I have been slashing my way through Trochlight every night for the past week or so...
I hope you can make it to the meeting tonight.

Greetings,
I'd enjoy hearing from industry vets about indie-game development, pitching games, how far to take your proof of concept, best engines for p.o.c. dev (especially dev on mac) and such.
I'm also interested in seeing some speakers talk about story. I saw Corvus Elrod at a Portland meet-up (I just moved up here) give a great presentation about story and the choices you give the player.
Looking forward to the next get-together and meeting you all.
Happy New Year!
Bo Geddes

I'd love to see the guys and gals from Runic speak. Specifically covering "How we're doing after torchlight launched" and "how we did it".
