Call for Presenters
The Student Chapter of The Association for Computing Machinery at the University of Maryland, College Park is currently seeking presenters and/or panelists for an evening series on games, game development, and the gaming industry. The chapter is looking for presenters interested in supporting STEM education, engaging students, and passing along their first hand information. Our student members have expressed interest in hearing more about:
-The IGDA
-The Global Game Jam (and Game Jamming in general)
-Gaming Technologies (and how to use them to develop games)
-An overview of the gaming profession
...and much more.
The chapter would be very interested in hearing from professionals in any part of the field, experienced indie developers, and anyone else interested in contributing. The official details regarding the series will come out once we are able to see what our interest is like but we would like to possibly schedule individual presenters, presenters to serve as panelists, and possibly even a demo night if there are those interested in presenting projects that are in development (if they are able to). Tentatively the series will be in late April or early May with compensation being provided to the presenters that are selected. Presenters are encouraged to submit their names, contact information, and a brief description of what they do and what they are interested in presenting by April 15th, 2011. For more information please contact the event coordinator: Matthew Mauriello (mattm401@umd.edu).
All the best,
UMD ACM
