Chapter Status and Moving Forward

Hello everyone in the DC / VA / MD area.

First I want to ask who is here? Kindly reply to the thread and introduce yourself.

Second, some of you may already know me and for those who don't I'd like to introduce myself and explain what I'm here for.

My name is Chris Hood, and about 2 years ago I was helping coordinate the efforts for the DC/Nova Chapter. Last year I moved to the west coast and now I am chairing and coordinating the efforts throughout Southern California.

While at GDC I spoke with several people in the DC area and wanted to step in and assist the chapter with getting on track and moving forward through the formalization and chartering process that all chapters must now go through. I've been asked by the IGDA offices to assist but more importantly, I want to get everyone on the same page by establishing a framework to follow where the chapter can be successful.

I will be in the Northern Va area during the first week of April. I was wondering if we could arrange a sit down meeting with all interested parties on either April 5th or April 6th in the evening to discuss the next steps for the chapter and how to move forward with the chartering process.

This group would be the initial steering committee who will help plan, coordinate and hold regular meetings. If you are interested in being on this committee and participating with the direction the chapter moves, I'd encourage you to come to the meeting. I understand Trey has been hard at work to try and make things happen, but it can't be done by only one person.

So, who is all here? Who is interested in being on a committee? And what date works best for you, the 5th or 6th around 7:00pm. Location to be determined.
