Dec 2: Toronto IGDA moderated discussion on "Government assistance from a developer’s point of view"

Please join us for the next Toronto IGDA event on Wednesday Dec 2nd! It will be a moderated discussion by George Geczy from BattleGoat Studios on “Government assistance from a developer’s point of view”.
Specifically, it will be a panel discussion on the topic of Government Assistance and Funding that is available for Game Developers in Ontario, focusing on the experiences of developers using these programs. Details include the opportunities that these programs provide, and the challenges involved with qualifying for and applying for these funds. Government programs to be discussed include SR&ED, Ontario Media Development, Telefilm, Tax Credits, and more. The panelists are Keith Makse of Cerebral Vortex Games, Jim McNally of Longbow Digital Arts, Darko Milivojevic of Interactive Ontario.
The location is Metro Hall (55 John Street), Room 203. The Doors open at 7:00 pm. The event starts at 7:15PM and goes to 8:45 PM. Afterwards we plan to head over to the Fox and Fiddle, one block north of King at the south west corner of John st. and Adelaide st. (106 John Street Toronto).
A big THANK YOU to Rob Berry and Paul Posilovic from the City of Toronto for donating the space, Tim Horons coffee and donuts! We really appreciate the support!!!
Hope to see you there!

This gets me thinking...
If you guys want more funding for the IGDA I suggest seeking out accountants, business startup consultants, financial consultants, etc.. and have them sponsor meetings or contribute.
There are a lot of developers who could make usage of their services. And I'm sure there are other categories that could be hit up, such as banks (think: Loans for startup game devs).
For example, if you know of any good game dev startup accountants, let me know!
