My Feedback:

I think it's a very good idea for Epic to be offering their engine to anyone who wishes to explore it. I can certainly see the vast amount of students who will be pleased to have access to such a wonderful tool. I noticed they mentioned something about being able to release UE3-powered games for free. Of course there will be some licensing agreements creators will need to sign with Epic, but at least the initial development kit didn't cost you anything. If you have not already taken advantage of the UE3 engine, then now is your chance. I know I will be getting a copy of the development kit and exploring the features.
