It's time to do something about QoL

It really is. The Rockstar San Diego situation is the latest and not-so-greatest of these tales, and we really shouldn't put up with it any longer.

The IGDA needs to establish quality of life standards for studios. Work hours, vacation times, the way in which employees are treated, etc. They need to distribute these standards to studios, whether they're members or not, and inform them that they will be judged based on these criteria by surveys of their employees (or whatever method would be the best).

Then we have a pair of lists on the IGDA web site. One is the Wall of Fame, the list of studios who meet the standards with flying colors and provide a great working environment. The other is the Wall of Shame, a list of studios who are found to be in gross violation of the QoL standards.

Who else thinks this is a good idea?
