I feel as though the monthly newsletter is no longer a news letter and is rather a publication. A news letter is supposed to let us know what's going on in our organization, like current initiatives and meetings and what's happening in the SIGs. The current news letter no longer does that, instead it provides us with articles and interviews with people or studios. Before the change to the current style of newsletter you didn't have to be in a SIG to know what was going on in that SIG so if you wanted you could join in on topic or initiative but now you have to join the SIG to know what's going on and depending on the SIG a lot of things are done off the mailing list so you then have to hunt down the people working on the initiative.

What I'm really asking is for the newsletter to be restarted as a news letter and let the current one become a publication that the IGDA puts out, as I like it but I feel as though it's now longer a news letter.

For just the newsletter we should go back the old format. Such as the one found here:

It gave a much better overview of what was going on in the organization than the current newsletter does. Like for example there was restructuring that went on the board and it was supposed to be covered in the newsletter this month and upcoming months but the newsletter contained none of it, except for a brief interview with out new director which told us nothing of how the IGDA has been restructured.
