To renew or not to renew that is the question

So my membership is up for renewal and I've been a member for 2 years. I would love to renew but would someone like to please explain the reasons why I should? So far I've spent about $100 on my two year membership and I've not seen any value whatsoever in it thus far. Where has this money gone? On top of that I see the debacle of the Langdell situation, US-centric events and offers for members such as the medical cover (this is the IGDA right? Not the USGDA), and also a half-empty and slow forum.

I've been in the industry for 10 years now, love my job and have $48 sat here ready to renew. I just need a valid reason to part with my hard-earned cash.
