Schools in the LA Area for Certs or Classes: Expanding portfolio / skillset.

As some people have cited (again, thanks Ben!), my portfolio at the moment is lacking and I want to find schools to help accelerate the expansion of my portfolio and skills. I am primarily curious about the schools in LA/OC, that teach level design and 3d modeling. I have a B.A. already, so going back to undergrad college is not an option at this point in time, but I can't get into any M.S. or MFA programs with my portfolio or level of ability.

I am aware of the Gnomon school, but I'm a bit shaky on proprietary schools due to a bad experience at the one I went to prior. (Private message me if you are curious about the details.) What are these places, how are their reputations, and what kind of programs do they offer for full-time professionals?
