Chapter Meeting 8-Dec-2005

Thanks to everyone who joined us this evening. The second chapter meeting attracted twice as many attendees as the first one (approx. 40-50 people), so it seems the chapter is on the right track.

Trinigy delivered a very impressive and in-depth presentation of their 3D graphics middleware, Vision Engine 5.0, and the associated toolchain and business opportunities. Special emphasis of the presentation were cutting-edge visual features, Xbox 360 support and the new vForge in-game editor. Thanks to Dag Frommhold and Felix Röken for sharing their insights regarding next-generation game development and technology with us.

SnapDragon gave a very entertaining presentation of their upcoming game, "Flugratten". Following the presentation was a passionate discussion regarding the game concept, visual style, technology, and marketing approach. A big "thank you" to everyone in the audience who participated. Open discussion and exchange of ideas -- that's exactly what IGDA chapters were invented for! :)

Unfortunately, our third presenter, Sebastian Wolters, fell ill and his presentation had to be postponed until the next chapter meeting.

We look forward to see you all again at the upcoming chapter meeting in spring 2006!

Chapter Meeting 23-June-2005

After an in-depth preparation period, the IGDA Hamburg Chapter took off with a terrific launch.

We had people from Pixon, Elkware, 49 Games, Game-Music.de, Indies@work, 4-Head, Northstar Developers, and many more joining us this evening.

Special thanks to our sponsor, Avid Alienbrain, who made this event possible. A big "thank you" must also go out to everyone who contributed to this nice and stimulating evening -- especially our volunteers Michael and Dieter.

We're looking forward to seeing you all again at the next event. More info to follow soon.
