IGDA-AIAS: Interactive Achievement Awards Voting Information

Since creating the Interactive Achievement Awards in 1997,
the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has always
strived to best recognize the incredible talents of the men
and women creating games. Last year, the International
Game Developers Association and AIAS began working
together so that IGDA professional game makers can take
part in the industry’s peer-based honors. Our collective
goal was to allow the Interactive Achievement Awards to
represent the will of all game makers. With the 13th
Annual Interactive Achievement Awards coming on
February 18th, 2010, IGDA professional members
will once again have the opportunity to vote in the
industry’s craft awards.

The IAAs are voted on by the professional membership
of the AIAS and the IGDA, with peers selecting the
winners of craft categories. It is important that all eligible
members vote in the categories where they are specialized.
With your participation, we can ensure that the awards retain
their peerless legitimacy and continue to be the greatest
honor our medium bestows each year.

“The Interactive Achievement Awards are the industry’s
annual opportunity to recognize the incredible contributions
and accomplishments of the development community,”
said Joshua Caulfield, executive director of the IGDA. “We
fully support the Academy in its goal of recognizing the
contributions of the creative community and appreciate that
our professional members play an important part.”

“The professional members of the IGDA are an important
component of the Academy’s process and ensures the
awards are bestowed upon the most deserving nominees,”
said Joseph Olin, president of the AIAS. “While winning any
award is an honor, winning an award chosen by your peers
is more meaningful and significant as we celebrate the
outstanding achievements in the craft of game making each year.”

Please watch your inbox in the coming days for your ballot.
If you have questions regarding voting, please contact Josh Green

Sincerely,

Joshua Caulfield and Joseph Olin
