Dear IGDA Members and friends,

This is the last IGDA newsletter for which I'll be writing the intro. In May
my two-year term on the IGDA Board of Directors ends and someone else will get
a chance to serve as chairperson. It's been a great experience and I'm thankful
that I've had the opportunity to contribute to our growing community.

Speaking of board terms, we're in the middle of an election to fill the seats
being vacated by me, Julian Eggebrecht and Warren Spector. Visit our elections
page to find out how members can help select new board members:

http://www.igda.org/About/Directors/elections.htm

As you'll read below, the IGDA's activities at this year's GDC were a big success.
We had a strong presence this year and were very pleased with the outcome. What
did you think? If you have feedback on any of our activities or suggestions on
how we can do even better next year, please let us know!

Matt Toschlog
Chairperson, IGDA

Join Will Wright, Yu Suzuki, and Hideo Kojima this May in Los Angeles

At this year's E3Expo, some of the most respected game designers in the world
will be giving workshops and speaking on panels. Lorne Lanning, Jason Rubin,
Richard Garriott, Toshihiro Nagoshi, Bruce Shelley, and American McGee (along
with Will, Yu-san and Kojima-san) are just some of the over 125 industry professionals
participating in the E3Expo Conference Program. Decide today to make this year's
E3Expo more than just fun and games, more than just parties and play. Commit
to attending the conference program and acquire skills that will help you survive
the choppy economy and fierce competition in today's game industry. Learn the
art, craft, and business of creating and designing better games from the industry's
most successful designers (and pick up some necessary business and marketing
skills as well). The E3Expo Conference Program is the only opportunity to see
these and other talented game designers in a single setting.

Enroll now to receive an IGDA member discount, and take the first steps on the
road to further developing your game design skills. Register at www.e3expo.com
before May 10th and use code E3IGDA to receive a 20% discount (membership will
be validated). Don't pass this opportunity by.
