Dear Members and friends,
Undoubtedly, many of us are busy crunching away on holiday deadlines,
making this a relatively quiet past month of news. That said, the IGDA has been
racking up the flyer miles in order to visit our chapters (and related conferences)
in "far off places", namely Ireland, Germany and Japan of late (see trip reports
below).
What's most encouraging is that we see the same passion for games across the
globe. We also see the unique challenges present in each development community
(eg, closed nature of Japanese studios, embryonic industry in Ireland, etc).
It is refreshing to see how each local chapter is working to address those issues
most relevant to its members. In all locations, communication and the ability
to connect with each other are fundamental, and it is nice to know that IGDA
chapters are serving in that critical role.
