IGDA VIP Luncheon - Jillian's at Noon Today

Dear Members,

While all of you are important to the organization, every year at GDC the IGDA recognizes a number of folks (roughly 200) who take the extra time, energy and commitment to volunteer as a SIG or Chapter Leader, as a supporter of the org for specific program, or otherwise takes a leadership role in the IGDA.

We want to thank them all for the excellent work they do for the IGDA.

Today at noon we have a VIP Luncheon at Jillian's in the Metreon all of the ISG and Chapter leaders and these other Super Volunteers are invited. If you RSVP'd, please stop by the IGDA Booth and Get a VIP ribbon to add to your stack.

This luncheon is brought to our IGDA Volunteers and Leaders by the generous support of Autodesk. Please join me in thanking Jennifer Goldfinch and Mary Beth Haggerty.  So if you are seated with or speaking with one of their attendees, please let them know how much we appreciate their continuing support of the organization at all levels.

We will be recognizing 3 volunteers this year as having achieved some outstanding successes.  You are all important to the organization, but the Board of Directors and I found that three folks really went above and beyond the call of duty, and we will be thanking them for their service at the luncheon.

We also have a special "Member of the Year" award.  This is not a regular award, but there was a 4th volunteer who's efforts over the course of their tenure at the IGDA have really contributed (and continue to be part of) the success of the IGDA.

Finally, we will be thanking Jen McLean and Bob Bates for their service on the Board of Directors.

I would also like to thank some other friends of the IGDA who's support is making this lunch possible:

Peter Alau of Digital Extremes and the Evolution Engine

Todd NorthCutt and Sean Flinn of Gamespy Technologies (and if you haven't gotten your drink tickets for the party, these would be good folks to see.)

If you get an opportunity to Blog, Facebook, Tweet, or (goodness forbid) see in person these great folks, please let them know how much the members of the IGDA appreciate their financial support that allows us to have programs like the lunch and the booth and the Happy Hour, etc.

Sincerely,

Joshua
