Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender individuals work in every aspect of the video game community. Game publishers are increasingly exploring ways to integrate gender and sexual identity into games. Online communities of "Gay Gamers" are expanding, connecting, and starting to form a growing voice in the video game market. The game development community needs the public face of an LGBT SIG to responsibly address the issues of gender identity and sexual orientation as they relate to the games we make and the people who make them. 

The LGBT SIG welcomes all developers interested in the issues of gender identity and sexual orientation as they relate to the video game industry. The LGBT SIG embraces the natural diversity of the makers and consumers of games, and promotes healthy openness and representation of LGBT individuals in the industry workforce and in the games we produce. The LGBT SIG also seeks to form a support network for LGBT individuals working in the video game industry, providing mentoring, advice, and both an inward and outward community presence.
