Wacana Media Interaktif : Halatuju dan Potensi Multimedia di Masa Depan [April 26th, 2009 – 9:26 pm]

Almost a month ago, Faculty of Information And Communication Technology of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) invited IGDA Malaysia Chapter representative to take part of their event, a forum and workshop about the future of multimedia industry focusing on animation and games. Among other invited guest were Hasnul Hadi Samsudin and Azmir Saifudding Mutalib from MDeC, Hassan Abd Mutalib from Persatuan Animasi Malaysia, Kedar Raut from Rhythm & Hues Studio - India, and myself, BuZz from IGDA Malaysia Chapter.

The event started with the forum that talks about the challenges and oppurtunities of interactive media industry in Malaysia", where the panels were made of Hasnul Hadi Samsudin and Hassan Abd Mutalib. The second part of the event is divided to workshop and also talk, where students are divided based on their years of studies. Kedar Raut delivered two talk sessions that covers the work that Rhythm & Hues Studio in India have done, Azmir Saifudding Mutalib covers two sessions about the creative works and effort that MDeC has been involved with and lastly, I did a workshop on games development using Microsoft XNA.

Overall, the event was fruitful, especially that we get to have a discourse session with the academicians from UTeM, discussing about their courses and also the industry in general.
