IGDA Manila Monthly Meetup for October 2010 - Report

A big thanks to everyone who came to the IGDA Manila monthly meetup last October!

Here's what happened, in case you missed it:
  • We did our first sketching session - Rej and Oneal Rosero from the Philippine Outpost of the 501st legion posed in their clone trooper armor. They were very good sports, holding poses for five or ten minutes at a time with heavy armor and blasters!
  • Since the 501st were posing for charity, IGDA members donated to the A-HA Learning Center (well-represented by Jaton Zulueta). Boomzap Entertainment graciously offered to match any donation made.
  • Alstaire Sarthou from Top Peg Animation gave a great talk on their studio's game animation experience

Kids join the sketch session, too!

At the end of the day, we raised Php 4,700 (USD110) in donations - that might not mean much to the rest of the world, but in the Philippines (and for a volunteer center), that money will go a long way.

Thanks IGDA members for your generosity, and the Philippine Outpost of the 501st Legion, Top Peg Animation, Boomzap Entertainment, and venue sponsor Exist for making this meetup possible!
