IGDA Monthly Meetup for December ‘09 Report

Our December Monthly Meetup went great! It warmed my heart that a grand total of 34 people attended the meet - a far cry from the 6 or 10 people I remember before I left for the States. Both Ryan's and Chester's talks on art were well-received, with several good questions and a few dubious ones (e.g. "What do you wear when you work?"*).  As expected, most of the crowd were game artists, with a few programmers and designers thrown in. The early birds also got loot from PAX and GDC (sorry, late birds).

American Technologies, who was kind enough to sponsor our meeting venue, gave a "whoa" presentation on the latest goodie from Wacom - the Bamboo Touch. Thanks, ATI!

For everyone who attended: we hope you liked the presentations, and that you come to our January meetup, too. Sign up for the forums and the Facebook group if you haven't already. See you in 2010!

*Ryan's answer: "Too little." Chester's answer: (to Ryan) "Everything you don't."
