Chapter Meeting: June 2001
The first meeting of the Miami/South Florida Chapter was a rousing success. We met at Hardaway's Fire House Four in Miami and those in attendance were enthusiastic about the future of our chapter. Several developers were represented including crews from Digitalo and Gtech. We also had a good turn out from the premier game recruiter Virtual Search (thanks for the round of shots guys!) as well as support from Creative Labs LA division.
Chapter coordinator Tom Buscaglia (tech lawyer and head of Ballroomgames) named Vic DeLeon (Digitalo) and Marc Mencher (Vsearch) to the local chapter board of directors.
No program at this initial get together... just lots of free beer and that shot for the house from the boys at Virtual Search! We got to meet each other and received a lot of input regarding the direction those in attendance would like to see the chapter going - the most common being about 20 miles further north up the coast!!!
Plans are for a meeting on the last Wednesday of each month and to rotate the meeting throughout our rather broad geographic area until we find a permanent home.
