The
Midlands Chapter of the IGDA hopes to bring together members
of the area's development community in order to socialise,
share ideas, 'network', and generally improve the quality
of game development in the region. The IGDA as an organisation
aims to foster creativity and professionalism in our industry
- the Midlands chapter aims to show that the companies working
in this region can compete on a world stage, produce content
to rival that of any other area around the world, and hopes,
therefore, that it can encourage and support the wealth of
talent in this region.

First IGDA Meeting of the Year! We’re very pleased to welcome you to the spring Midlands Chapter event, which will take place on Thursday 14th May.
In addition to the usual socialising, we are also offering you the chance to hear the talk that Andrew Oliver and Aaron Allport gave at this year’s GDC, ‘Games in stereoscopic 3D – the next dimension is finally here?’ and see one of the world’s first stereoscopic 3D games running on a console! It must be seen to be believed - this isn’t your old anaglyph, this is like the Imax 3D/ Monster Vs Aliens!

The last IGDA meeting of the year! There has been a slight change of plan for this December's IGDA meeting! Due to unforeseen circumstances, GIGDA with live bands is being postponed until the New Year. Instead however, and carrying on with the musical theme, we will be hosting a 'pub quiz' style music quiz .
This is open to teams of no more than 6 and there are games and drinks up for grabs for the lucky winners! The hall and bar area will then be opened up for musical gaming in the form of Rock Band and American Idol.
