The
latest Midland Chapter event was a big success; we more than
doubled the usual attendance numbers!
The big prize on
offer for the raffle may have helped this extra interest.
The
Xbox360 was kindly supplied by Blitz Games.
1st prize
– Xbox360 Went to Gordon Hayes from Awesome Developments.
2nd Prize
– A bottle of champagne Went
to Kieren Bloomfield, from Awesome Developments.
Free draw
– A bottle of champagne Went
to Lyndon Homewood, from Blitz Games.
Rare
stole the show, showing off their XBox360 titles ‘Perfect
Dark Zero’ and ‘Kameo – Elements of Power’.
These
are truly stunning games that had the audience completely
engrossed, and eager to try their hand
at the games later in the evening. It did mean that the panel
was somewhat overshadowed and dull by comparison.
The panel debate happened later in the evening by which time
everyone was hyper and excited, and getting merry on drink.
This did mean that the panel debate really did not work. We
shall learn from this for next time.
‘Functions’ venue in Leamington Spa was a great
place for this event, more exclusive, bigger and posher than
before. But we underestimated the amount of interest we would
recieve this time, so it did get a little crowded by the end
of the evening and we reached maximum capacity for the venue!
Overall the evening was a great success, a great turn out,
and a very, very memorable, lively exciting event.
As organisers of these events we are always looking to improve
them, so people can get the most out of these events. Please
help us to do this by sending honest feedback/suggestions.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next event in 2006,
and hope you have a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year!
