Thanks to ClearImage and Emergent Game Technologies for sponsoring our August meeting at the Hiberian Pub in downtown Raleigh.

Scott Johnson, Executive Vice President of Emergent Game Technologies,was in from the company's Calabasas office. During the meeting, he shared details on recent developments with Gamebryo Element, the 3D engine that powers games such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Sid Meier’s Civilization IV. Also discussed were The Emergent Elements suite of technology comprised of Gamebryo, Metrics, Automation, Server, Online Services and Custom Engineering.

Johnson touched on how Emergent is creating modular technologies and services that give developers the flexibility and control they need to create breakthrough gaming experiences in the face of escalating scale, complexity, and content demands of single-player and online games.

Over 70 people were in attendance, and we were excited to see members from most Triangle game studios. The academic community had representation from as far away as Virginia and Goldsboro.
