Global Game Jam

Everyone planning to participate in the Jam needs to register at globalgamejam.org.  You create an account first, and then create a profile.  In the profile, make sure you associate yourself with the IGDA-NOLA at UNO site.  We need to start planning food and supplies, etc., and we are getting our headcount estimates from this registration.  Even if you want to hold out on your decision until the day of -- it would help us if you register now.

Remember, at the Jam we will be joining sites all around the world for the weekend as we try to create games in 48 hours.  The event runs from 5pm Friday (JAN 28) to 5pm Sunday (JAN 30).  You do not need to be an experienced game developer or member of the IGDA to participate.  In fact, this year is the first year people/teams can make non-digital games (board, card, etc.).  It's a fun brain challenge and social experience (not to mention great resume padder).

Participants are free to bring their own computers or use the machines in the UNO lab.  You are also encouraged to bring sleeping bags, snacks, favorite music, etc.  Anything that helps keep you going, unwind, or sleep.  If you are thinking the analog route try to being a good assortment of creative supplies: Post-it Notes, paper, markers, dice, paperclips, graph paper, etc.  There's even a big plotter printer for game boards (psych!).
