IGDA: Webinar Series: Announcing a free “Members Only” benefit as part of the new Member Value Campaign!
Clinton Keith to kick-off IGDA "Members Only" Webinar Series.
Dear IGDA Member,
Thank you for your membership. It is clear from the Member Survey results and from my discussions with IGDA members and Chapter and SIG leaders that our members have been looking for their association to provide more "direct value". Over the last few months, I have frequently discussed our desire to implement a series of projects designed to provide useful member-centric resources. IGDA is working hard to bring these programs to life and we are happy to announce the next progression in our evolution: member-focused webinars.
Each month we will showcase a number of different webinars on an assortment of themes; a full schedule will be available shortly. Some topics will be technical in nature, some will focus on professional issues we all face, and some will speak to high-level industry challenges for thought and discussion. The wide range of topics will allow everyone to find something of value in this exciting webinar series.
We will launch the program with Clinton Keith, who will be giving insights into "Scrum"-what it is, how it works, and why it's important to you. This is a primer for his session at the IGDA Leadership Forum in November. If you are even considering attending the workshop, this session will be a great way to prepare yourself for the more in-depth certification. This session will be on September 29 at 12:00 noon Eastern (9:00a.m. Pacific). An email announcement will follow with full registration details allowing you to sign up for this excellent class.
Other speakers will follow on topics such as: Designing User Experiences, Negotiating Contracts, Funding an Independent Studio, and Problem Solving. A complete list for the rest of 2009 will be emailed to you shortly.
This webinar series is only available to full IGDA members. Also, the "attendees" are limited to 150 IGDA members, so when you see a topic that interests you, please sign up early.
I welcome input from all of our members on interesting topics and convenient times. We are especially interested in hearing from our members that are not based in North America as we are an international association and would like to provide outreach to members worldwide.
We will continue to work hard to bring you value moving forward. Thank you again for your membership and continued support of IGDA.
Sincerely,
Joshua Caulfield
