IGDA Awards International Students with GDC Europe Scholarships
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - August 4, 2005 - The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) has selected 10 students to participate in this year's Game Developers Conference Europe (GDCE) Scholarship Program. The scholarship will provide the recipients with full access to all sessions, roundtables and keynotes at GDCE, offering a unique opportunity to gain insight into the industry and network with professionals. The conference is slated for Aug. 30 - Sept. 1, 2005, in London, England.
"The scholarship program provides students with an inside track to game creation," says Jason Della Rocca, executive director of IGDA. "The IGDA is always looking for ways to encourage aspiring game developers because they represent the future of our industry."
The recipients of IGDA's 2005 GDCE Student Scholarships are:
- Jeppe Revall Frisvad - Technical University of Denmark (Denmark)
- Silje Ganger - Hedmark University College (Norway)
- Per Hugoson - Linköping University (Sweden)
- Mark Korthals - Columbia University (USA)
- Tom Law - Surrey Institute of Art and Design (England)
- Alger Lee - University of Manchester (England)
- John-Patrick Molloy - Ballfermot College of Further Education (Ireland)
- Annelise Nielsen - IT University of Copenhagen (Denmark)
- Magali Stretton - Surrey Institute of Art & Design (England)
- Lance Winter - University of Salford (England)
Representatives of the gaming industry and members of the IGDA's Education Committee judged the scholarship applications.
