May I introduce myself...
Hi fellow developers...
It seems like here are rather few people from austria.
Although there exists a chapter, nobody ever posted something in here.
So i just want to introduce myself and hope that if any other austrians are somewhere around you will introduce youself, too.
I'm Johann Fuchs, a programmer from Linz. I'm 22 years old and i love to develop graphics software, be it simulations or games.
When i was 13 years old i began to program, since then, nothing was as much fun as programming.
Currently my real life job has nothing to do with graphics nor with games programming, but the money is good and i let all my creativity flow later at home when i play around with my raytracer (which is my current project).
Philipp Aumayr, Alkoven (near Linz!)... I'm 18 years old and will start studying computer science in linz. In my spare time I work with rarebyte (http://www.rarebyte.com) and crystalspace (http://crystal.sf.net).
cya,
phil
Whoa, and we didn't even respond. Well, thanks for the introduction anyhow! Good to see we're getting new contacts over time!
so how are things going @ rockstar vienna ? looking forward to GTA : San Andreas!!
any chance that we could organise a IGDA chapter meeting ? I'm a bit busy with the military service atm, but I'm sure i could get free for that
cya,
Phil
as far as I know there should be a meeting coming up in march... don't know any specific date yet but I'm sure clemens will post the details early enough...

...weighing a meager 70kg, Martin Kramer, a programmer who hails from our lovely capitol city and is 21 years old.
I know that Databasedesign or a similiar boring job simply can't be my future for the next 40+ years and so I am learning all I can about gameprogramming, currently I am trying to figure DirectX out and so far I am pretty impressed by it's power and good documentation.
I am now building a simple engine which will someday (hopefully) be my first serious game.
In fact, we are a team of two, the other guy is a friend of mine, who happens to be a programmer that shares my point of view about that boring database thing.
We are out of money (which is the main difference between me and the thread starter
) but we're highly motivated. I thought I'd say hello (not that I think anyone will ever read that) but it would be nice if the few posters would return for a discussion or two.
Have a nice day,
-Martin
